I have rebuilt the drivetrain on the '66 Skylark and now it's time to shift my attention to the body. Some of the panels are in really rough shape. Especially the rear quarter panels. Does anyone know where I can purchase body parts for this car? I can't find anything doing a Google search except a few really expensive pieces on ebay. Also, what years will fit this car and are there any body parts from other cars that will fit (GS?).
Lower rear qtr patches are avail from Wolf Steel: https://alfaparts.net/sky.htm A few other places sell them, but Wolf is the one that makes them. Front fender patches are also avail from Wolf. 66-67 Special/Skylark have unique outer sheetmetal, other years/models are different. Trunk floor and rear deck filler panel is shared by Olds/Pontiac A-bodies. Floors and roof is also shared by Chevelle.
I'd look through Hemmings motor news. Several advertisers there, who don't put their name out perhaps as much as they could. None of these are going to be cheap, but very likely at least one or two of them will have something. The best outcome might be to find a specimen at an estate sale or a fire sale from someone who wants it gone. 1. obsolete buick parts - E Texas 2. ctc auto ranch - Denton TX 3. LL classics - Idaho 4. I cut the lower right rear quarter panel off my 66 Skylark several years back, and sent it to wolf steel for a pattern. That is why we have replacements. The part is nice , but not perfect. It was a little over a hundred dollars then. It would be nice if we could get full reproduction quarters.
