Thanks! Got to getter on the road! Pictures of how bad the frame was ! Broken in half by the right lower rear trailing arm! Plus almost foot long holes! Found chunks on the floor when I had it in storage! So no question that it needed to be replaced!

So after taking a full weekend off to pay tribute to my Buddy Gil who passed away! Randy and I got back at it! We decided to tackle the left driver side toe board and floor! There was more rust and ugliness to this side! Man did I cut a big hole in the floor!!! Both pieces are fitted up and partially welded in! On the toe board we reused the ribbon body harness hold down and the gas pedal reinforcement!

Got some more time in ! Worked on pin holes and other areas that needed a little touch up! Also fixed a small area in the center of right quarter! I had kept a piece from the donor quarter to fix it with! So after cutting out the cancer we cut down a piece and it fits like a glove! Now you see it now you don’t! We’re getting close!

More work! Seam sealed fire wall and satin black layer of paint! I spent hours trying to duplicate the factory messy look! lol Also seam sealed rain gutters! Forgot pictures darn it! Cleaned and coated the trunk floor with some por 15! Will come back and seam seal next session! Got to seam seal , Interior and trunk ! Por 15 and paint interior sail panel structure and roof braces and backside ! Then we will flip her over and get the bottom cleaned, sanded, por15 seam sealed and blacked out , plus some undercoat!

More painting ! The hard stuff! First the inner cowl behind kick panels door post/ outer firewall! Touched up back of dash and center defroster vent! Then the inner sail panels with the back of door jam quarter area! Next was the back of the quarter and inter wheel housing! Also seam sealed the very edge of cowl on the sides! Never would have been able to do this without the rotisserie! Makes a hard job easy! Car is now raised up on its side so I can get in the windshield opening and work on top and brace structure!

Yes lots of work going on here! Today we flipped her on the side and completely upside down and worked on getting the underside ready for paint! The back half needed to have the paint and rust knocked off to get it prepared for POR15 , seam sealer, paint and undercoat!

So bottom of car chassis blacked ,seam sealed, and some undercoat! After careful consideration on cost , availability and usage, decided to leave most of the bottom in chassis black ! I did undercoat wheel wells , trunk drops, partial trunk floor and rear trunk brace ! Tried to somewhat duplicate the factory look! I will be spraying the back of the rockers and about a foot in on the floor boards even though this wasn’t always done at factory!? Thinking about partially doing front wheel house!?

This is looking fantastic. Providing lots of inspiration/motivation for my '64 project. Have you media blasted any metal or what method are you using to strip to bare metal? Particularly in the trunk, underside and interior areas?

Thanks Joesregal! It’s not show but much more paint than the factory every put on! There is over 2 gallons of paint used on interior, trunk, firewall and bottom of floor! Not counting the 5 tubes of seam sealers and so far 3 cans of undercoat! Around $675 in material ! This isn’t counting the wire wheels , flapper wheels, cutting disc, grinding discs, wire and gas for welding , welding helmet, respirators! I try and post stuff of interest and helpful to others! Pictures are just from the phone!

So I have used several methods to remove paint and rust from the body! When I started on it I had most of the body sand blasted but not the outer sheet metal! The main part of the floor was blasted also before being put in!! The trunk floor was prior blasted and left in prime years back so it was stripped down now with wire brush, grinding wheels, abrasive wheels etc! The rear seat panel took that and some sanding as it was original 65 paint, rust , ext. The remaining outer sheet metal will be mechanically stripped with sandpaper! I have been working on this car for a series of years on and off! If I would have got a chance to fix it all at once I would have mediblasted!

Gotcha! I love the pictures, look forward to seeing more. I am planning on blasting the interior, trunk areas and firewall of my 64, but I'm going to mechanically strip all the large exterior panels. I'm not going to be removing my car's body from the frame, except to replace the body bushings, but that rotisserie sure is fancy!
