There is little after market support from vendors because there is not enough demand from owners of this model. Post the particular parts you need in the "Parts Wanted" section.

    Welcome to the club!
I've got two big Buicks and I've built a few dozen of them, so I'm sorry to have to tell you that you're not alone, and every model of big Buick is in the same boat. Yes, 65 was a bit unique when it comes to interior parts, it wasn't quite a 64 and it was nothing like 66. Otherwise, a 65 is almost identical to a 66. Under the sheet metal, there's virtually no difference between a 64 through 66. And this is the secret when it comes to dealing with big Buick parts, to know what's close or what took the same part. Yes, there are some 65 only parts, and those shouldn't be too hard to find, because 65 was one of the higher production years.
As for aftermarket or re-pop support, forget it; there isn't a company around who'll tool up and make body panels or anything specific for a specific model or year of big Buick. It's just not worth it to them. There are probably only about 1/2 a dozen or so gifted individuals in the world who are enlightened enough to restore a big Buick at any given time. (OK, read "fools", and I'm proud to say I'm one of them) So it's all wreckers and word of mouth and hunting, lots of hunting. If you're like any of us, you'll soon build a stock of spares that will fill every nook and cranny of your house that will entertain your significant other to no end. You will find the experience both frustrating and exhilarating, it's all about the thrill of the hunt. If you want an easy cheque-book restoration with the usual low-quality and ill fitting parts, you'd be better off buying a Chevy.
By the way, a 65 Electra is a gorgeous car. Hope you're enjoying it.

Ive had a 65 Electra 225 convertible parts car thread for close to four years. Not a ton of sales. No big parts sold.

And despite the elegance, class, style, and quality of these cars, in nice shape they don’t bring enough money to justify restoring one. Most buyers seek the cars that don’t need much.

I'll take some parts of your hands.. Still got it?

I have a 65 four door, and I live in Denmark.. There's under 10 Electra's registrations when I look them up, so most parts I fabricate my self, from other parts I modify..

I haven't closed the thread. Car is in local yard, been sitting for a long time. Appears to have come from somewhere else, as it has some body cancer. May? have belonged to a military individual, who dumped it when transferred. Hood, front fenders and doors appear to have been replaced with clean parts from this part of the country. It is a Parts Car.

Looks like the parts I need is already gone.. I need taillight, trim on each side of taillight, front and rear bumper with good chrome, possible the wide trim that goes at the bottom of the doors and a decent steering wheel..

The one you have looks sadly to far gone..

    Marc, thanks for the response!
I'm glad i found someone that could verify what years were interchangable, this certainly widens my search. I was fortunate to get this car from the original owner with nearly all original parts including the roof. It had been siting since 91 when the gentleman passed and his daughter kept in in a garage but alas uncovered. Paint is hurting but presentable, interior is nearly perfect except for some control knobs which i have found except for the antenna lever so i use a small screwdriver to raise the original antenna. I have put a fair amount of work into the car...springs, shocks, wiring, fuel line, fuel pump and the like but the motor turned easily and after alittle oil in the plugs fired on the 2nd turn!. Ive got some rust in the rear quarters to deal with as well as under the back seats and the front passenger side, but overall really good shape.
I do enjoy the car, it is one helluva cruiser and i have no fears taking it out on the highway..it has the 445 Wildcat engine and a ton of power. I appreciate the help and am not embarrassed to say that i will take all the help i can get!!
