Guys, a good friend of mine has decided to part with this car. To say this resto was done right is an understatement!

Picts are up at Buickperfromancegroup.com I am unable to post the link..if someone could pm me I will send you the link to attach to a post so the picts can be seen I would very much appreciate it.

65 special with 455 and manual trans

Frame sandblasted and painted semi gloss black
Front suspension stripped and painted, new polygraphite bushings and new ball joints. all new Moog center link, inner and out tie rod ends, new idler arm. 1" front sway bar with new polygraphite end link kit with bushings. completely new disc brakes with exception of spindles. new stainless brake lines and master cylinder mounted proportioning valve. new manual disc brake master cylinder. new In-Trax 1" lowering springs front and rear. completely rebuilt 8.5 10 bolt 3.42 posi. boxed lower rear control arms with polygraphite bushings and factory rear swaybar, all stripped and painted like new. New repro 4 speed control arm braces. new sportwagon HD rear drum brakes with NOS drums. new gas tank with filler neck and NOS gas cap. reconditioned manual steering box. All body bushings are new and extras were installed in place of the factory biscuits. front and rear rubber brake lines are all new

    Engine
Low mile 73 455 that has been completely inspected, cleaned and regasketed and painted. has 67 big port heads that have been totally rebuilt with new guides, valves and have been resurfaced. Performer intake painted engine color with 800 cfm quadra jet carb.Perfect original timing cover that has been professionally ported and set up with TA components. TA big block conversion frame pads installed on frame. 7 blade clutch fan assy.

transmission is a hd muncie MC-1 three speed with cast iron case and 1" counter shaft (nearly indestructable) NOS competition plus shifter. all 4 speed linkage cleaned, painted and installed. new 12 " clutch assy with resurfaced stock GS455 flywheel. BB bellhousing with correct inspection cover

wheels are 15x7 buick steel wheels painted body color with very nice poverty caps. New tires 235/60x15 in front and 255/60x15 in rear

core support and inner fenders are rust free and have been painted PPG semi gloss black. grill support and radiator top plate have been painted the same color. the radiator top plate is a 4 core versdion from a 67 GS400 and will allow the use of a 4 row radiator. i also have the correct 4 row bottom radiator mounts. Battery tray and brackets are perfect

    Body
the body was rust free with the exception of the floor pans which had rust holes due to the factory rubber floor matt. I had the floor pans professionally replaced with 2 full length pans and the body shop finished the top and bottom so that they look factory and you cant tell floor pans were ever replaced. entire car was media blasted inside and out and metal work performed. all side body moldings were removed. all body panels
were painted off the car and the inside of the front fenders were painted semi gloss black. interior metal is the same color as the exterior metal which is Estate green metallic. The body is perfect as are all the panels and the paint has a very high gloss.. paint job was 9200.00 with 1800.00 of it in materials costs.

The car will be completely assembled with the exception of interior and glass. I have a new windshield but it should be installed after headliner is installed. bumpers are straight and excellent for rechrome. grill and headlight bezels and decent but should be redone for show quality. car comes with the original bench seat. I have shifter sticks for either front seat setup. I now have the correct very good condition Special tailights for the car, both sides and a spare or two. I also found NOS rear back up lights. I also have new parking light bezels, NOS. I have also added to this the headers for the 455 in this chassis from T/A performance and had them ceramic coated. I have also bought the complete exhaust system to go with the headers for the car from T/A performance. The exhaust is aluminized and mandrel bent. All new.

The level of detail and work on this project would make it a very nice car for show and go. i am guessing that it would take another 3K to finish it, maybe less depending on the person

Quote from his post on the BPG: "I would like to get all my money back out of the project at $16,000"

That is a nice dream to have, and he might get all his money out if the right buyer comes along. Not likely though.

Bob had the car listed for $7700 on this board and I was first in line for it on here. Then David offered Bob his original asking price of $9600 and scooped it from under me. Can't blame Bob for getting the extra $2k I guess. I felt kinda slighted in the whole deal, but oh well. I guess Karma is a bitch, eh David?

Wow. Owning a shop and doing restorations myself I can say that this is a good deal. However, owning a shop and having overhead and scary heating bills this coming winter says I cant buy it. Nope, not going to do it. Must... keep from looking at this thread. Must stay on track.:ball:
