First off, I actually really like this car. Picked it up a few months ago rather unexpectedly. Nice shape and a very rare ride (only 1400 made like it). That being said.....I REALLY like 70-72 GS 455 cars. Anyone interested in a swap? Must be in equal or better shape. Numbers matching 401 Nailhead, A/T, power top, remote mirror, power driver's seat, console, original sales receipt and protect-o-plate. Car is a great, documented survivor. She isn't perfect but she's a really great old car that I fall in love with more and more each day. I also have a 69 Firebird Trans Am Tribute that needs some work that I would also trade with if you had the right car. Again, I am very happy with what I have and don't need to sell or trade.....but you can always be happier! Thanks, Jeff
Much easier "swap" (Re: 1965 Buick Skyark Gran Sport Convertible) Dear Jeff and V-8 Buick fans, Sorry to inject but I can't resist this!! Wouldn't it be a lot easier to just swap the really with the REALLY? :Brow: Not that I would have a bias toward 65s or nuthin' . . . . . . Cheers, Edouard :beer
If you actually ever want tto sell it outright ...................please let me know. I've been looking for a convert. Thanks, Brian
near Meadville, PA not to hijack the thread, but have you ever been to the Thurston Classic Balloon Event there?
Sorry, but no. Only been here 2 years and never heard of that. I'll check it out though. Thanks, Jeff
I haven't really considered a price. I would really prefer to trade it straight across for a 70-72 GS 455 car. I would also consider trades for other musclecars (i.e. - 68 - 72 442, 65 - 70 fastback mustang, 70 chevelle, 68 - 70 mopars, etc...) Like I said, I have no problem keeping this car. If you want to make a cash offer, I'd listen. Thanks guys, Jeff
You have it on craigslist same way . Not far if someone isn't local because pics don't tell whole story . Honest man would give description best he could and don't get me wrong everyones idea of cars conditions seems to be different but all you can do is be honest . I wish you best of luck always want to see everyone happy . Mike
NorCal, So, I offer my car up in a trade situation to see if there is any interest and suddenly I am not a fair or "honest man"? Of course, pictures don't tell the whole story and if someone is interested, I'll walk them through the whole car (good and bad). Sorry, if I didn't feel like typing out every pit, scratch, rust spot and blemish in a 10,000 word essay online. This is a pretty cool, rare old Buick and this forum seemed to be a good place to list this (along with Craigslist for local people). I don't think I have deceived anyone. Jeff
Mike, The guy just is trying to trade the car not sell it outright. Give the guy a break. He isn't deceiving anyone. Buy a 70 GS and trade him. I wouldn't think you would be in the market anyway.............don't you have a $60K well to drill? :eek2:
Since this went off topic anyway... Is that a "real" 69 Trans Am in the picture?? Wasn't there only like 600 of those produced?
Opel GS, I wish! So the story is this. I bought that Firebird (Trans Am clone) several years ago but haven't done anything with it. It's a true, numbers matching 400 firebird, but not a real TA. The car needs some work. I'd throw that car into the right trade as well. Anyway, so this year I finally saved up a nest egg to restore it. Then one day, this really nice 65 Buick GS Conv. pops up on craigslist and "poof" my restoration budget disappeared!
What does the car need? It looks like the interior needs an update. Is the steering column cracked as most are? How about the dash, floor pans, trunk and under carriage?
