thinking of getting this one. need your help on what it is worth. 46,000 miles, 425 and lots of options, no power windows but power seats cruise control.not restored needs nothing ac works all documentation. thanks guys all opinions welcome. going to have to pay up for this one not a willing seller
Nice car, nicely equipped too! Book on these ranges between $15-25,000 depending on condition and options, starting at condition 3. Obviously the more options, the more desirable it is. The other problem is "book value" is largely irrelevant these days with inflation and demand kicking things up a few notches, so that pricing might be off. Also be advised that those cars are at their absolute epitome of their value right now; the demand for these cars is expected to taper off as the Boomers who appreciated them downsize and die off. So it'll never be worth more than it is now. You're probably best to do a few searches through Hagerty and Hemmings and see what these things currently go for. The 64 was considered "collectible" because it was the last of the "original" generation of Wildcat, it had the LeSabre wheelbase and the Electra motor.
Joe, GO FOR IT!!!! Bucket seats, console & looks like a tach also. More options more problems. ENJOY Tom T.
High end of the price range, but looks like it's worth it. If you're happy with it and want it, go for it. It's a gorgeous car that you'll likely enjoy for years! And Tom is right; - more options, more headaches. I have to go through and rework my power seat, AM/FM radio, the 8 track ate a rare old "Doors" tape yesterday, the cruise control is possibly fried, a few lightbulbs have quit, and the top motor refuses to budge the top even though it's making the right noises. It seems when this crap gets old, it stops working. Who knew ... And then to top it off, I just acquired a set of buckets that need reupholstery and a console that needs a respray, I'm tossing the bench and putting that stuff in. It never stops.
Yeah, BUT Marc that's a decision you made & has no relation to the other WORK that needs to be done. Like you said "it never stops" we are always updated & improving. It's just what we do giving ourselves ALWAYS more to do. Tom T.
rather not have power windows anyways, i do like a power seat to get comfortable, could care less about AC but everybody wants it if you ever go to sell it. I really like cruise control must be a rare option in 1964. the big deal stuff is the bucket seats with console and shifter and 425 engine is the main things for me. he said he would let me know Sunday if he will sell it to me.
