Guys, I need to know what the differences are between the power steering pulleys of the air conditioned equipped versus the non air conditioned cars. Is it just the diameter of the pulley or is it the belt spacing? My 64 Wildcat with AC needs a good power steering pulley as the bore and keyway of the pulley is shot. this also caused the pulley to get out of wack. Can someone please measure their non AC car for the pulley diameter and belt spacing (distance from the belt center to the end of the pump shaft would do)? Also, since my pulley is so out of wack can someone with an air conditioned equipped car please measure the belt spacing from the belt center to the end of the pump shaft? This help would be greatly appreciated so I can get my car back on the road. Many thanks in advance
1963-1964 Wildcat-Electra-LeSabre, 401-425, A/C, Non-A/C power steering pumps and pulleys are all the same. If you need a pump and/or a pulley I have a spares. Chris
FYI: the spacing of the PS pulley is different for A/C and non-A/C 1964 Wildcats, Electras, and Rivieras. Some PS pulleys on AC cars have "AC" stamped on the front, some don't. The OD is the same. The A/C PS pulley has a back spacing of 1.25 inches between the back outer edge of the pulley and the front of the pump (not including the bracket).
