Unfortunately this was a " parts wanted " ad and not a " parts for sale ad". I don't think the selling rules flood over into other sections.
I have no iron in the fire and just trying to talk you down from them ledge. That's good in theory but it was a "parts wanted" post. Flip, spin, toss it whatever way but it the end of the day there are no sticky rules posted in the parts wanted section. It' s like creating an invisible line to be in. There's really no line in a parts wanted section except for the Original Poster.
is a 66 the same i think i have one from them the jack itself if someone needed it. id have to dig around.
I have asked the other moderators about this. The consensus was there is nothing we can do about this. In a Parts For Sale ad, we have set rules for procedure, but that doesn't apply here. Having said that, it is my personal opinion that what happened here was not right. Lz65GS apparently contacted you without posting on this thread. That resulted in BuickGS65 losing the opportunity to acquire the item. He didn't violate any board rules, but it leaves me shaking my head. Just my thoughts.
To everyone involved in the selling of the bumper jack: I am very sorry of what happened and I thought BuickGS65 said that he had found everything but the T jack shaft and did not realize he would have bought the whole assembly. I will definitely be a lot more cautious when selling these parts. Again, I am sorry for what happened. Les
