1962 estate special brakes

    Hi there I’m new to the site and I’ve picked up a 1962 wagon, the brakes need addressing as it’s been stood 7 years, what should I be looking out for? mom in the uk so will be ordering from Rockauto

    Neat car! Welcome.

    Probably rebuilding of the master cylinder & wheel cylinders to start. Maybe (probably) new steel lines (some good tutorials on here about bending them). All the hardware can probably be cleaned up if new isn't available & if the brake shoes are good, go with what you have.

    The car is arriving tonight so it will be getting some chicks under the wheels on the driveway. It’s the 3.5L engine, will the gearshift be?
    Park
    Reverse
    Neutral
    Drive
    Need to make sure I don’t run anyone over when parking up

    ive pulled the drivers side wheels off and rear shoes seem fine, front has lost all material. going to have a look on the other side tomorrow and see whats going on there before i order parts.
