Hello all I am back and got my 1962 special done. It runs great brakes were rough, the transmission was a real pain in the ass card rebuild was not bad. The question I now have is I hate the small tires and rims on the car what size can I go up to and will most rims fit since it is 4 lug. I want to thank everyone again for all the help you have given over time.

Only 4 lug rims will fit and not just any 4 lug. You have to use 4 lug rims with 4.114.3 spacing between the lugs. Using 4 lug rims with 4.100 spacing will not work.

    Hi:

I have a '63 Skylark with 4 lugs, and any wheel that fits a 90s Mitsubishi Galant will fit my car. I expect the same will apply to you.
I put 17s on mine, and they fit pretty well in the existing wheel wells.

Any sense of the backspacing and offset? I'm looking to set up my '62 with 17" rims. With the drum brakes (currently), any suggestions on the best aftermarket wheels to get? pics??

I am looking to replace mine also. I wondered if it would be easier or what may be involved in some form of hub swap?
