1960 Buick Electra Trim ID Help

    Hi Guys,

I have a friend who's father past away a number of years ago. His father had a 1960 Electra 2 door that he took apart for restoration in the early 80's. In 1985, he sent a bunch of parts out to be rechromed. He brought them home and they were carefully stashed in the attic until the car was ready to be reassembled. He past away suddenly and the family was going through alot. It sounds like the car may have been sold or lien saled by the body shop it was at. I didn't want to ask my friend too many questions about what happened to the car since it still makes him really emotional. Anyway, these chrome parts were up in the attic and most were still wrapped in thick stacks of newspaper from 1984 and 1985. The family wants me to sell these parts for them. I am hoping to get some help IDing the trim pieces. I obviously know what the bumpers and grille are but the long chrome pieces and other trim has been difficult to identify. Also, if anyone is looking for any of these trim pieces, maybe we can work out a deal. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Jason

Hey Jason, I might need some of that stuff. I’ll get onto my home computer and see what you have. It’s hard to zoom on these photos on the phone.

    Ok...how do I do this..

From top to bottom on the photo of all the parts:

    - Lower section of rear bumper
    - Left and right sections of rear bumper top
    - Front bumper
    - (leftside) dash board side pieces at door jamb (right side) front grille
    - (left side) lower dash cover under driver side (left center) A pillar cover (small piece below that) dash control cover (right center) more dash filler pieces (right side) grille extension pieces below headlights
    - The three long slender pieces appear to be rear window interior trim. Long flat pieces to the right appear to be lower dash valances that hang under the dash to cover heater controls
    - bottom long thin pieces are interior headliner trim left and right
    - Two lights on right side are courtesy lights that sit at the left and right of the headliner near your head.

Some of these were never chrome originally, like pics 11 & 12.

Wish that grille was for 59!
