Well, it could be brought back to rights without too much effort, I mean those hideous skirts would go as would that idiotic Continental kit; who the hell thought they were a good idea in the first place? They look good on a Lincoln, horrible on anything else! And finally, they were not an iconic 50s gimmick. They came into their own in the 70s. To each their own, I guess.
While Buick didn’t have an approved conti kit accessory package like some manufacturers, a conti kit like this one pictured was available through most Buick dealerships. If the word tasteful could be used in any form on a conti kit this would be it. It did not extend length, it replaced the rear center bumper with no other mods. When I had my 57’s I had fathered a fairly extensive literature collection and came across a few brochures in the dealer sales manuals for these aftrnarket kits.
Definitely 'ol skool lead sled, used to see a lot more of them back in the day. All it needs is some flipper hub caps, curb whiskers, and maybe a racoon tail hanging form the antennae. Who knows, maybe they are making a come back. Be careful, 20 - 30 years from now someone might be saying, "yuk, look at those hideous white letter tires, and those ugly hood scoops, etc." ! Edit: Found another, forgot about laker pipes and this one has a real long rear continental kit, and spot lights too! https://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-Buick...ash=item467fefba01:g:v~EAAOSw-htbPWGA&vxp=mtr
