    Hi all

I am making progress on my rebuild again and am looking for the front windshield exterior trim retaining clips that hold the stainless trim around the screen. (9 pieces in total). I have tried numerous trim fastener people and parts cars from ebay with no luck so far. The beltline trim clips are also proving difficult to find. (2 door sedan) Any ideas?

There is a 1956 Buick Special on ebay in Nebraska with good chrome and trim around the front screen, is there anyone close to South Sioux ? that could grab some bits from a car? and ship at my expense? or know of any other parts cars? or suppliers for these items. They could be made but I thought I would consider second hand initially.

Any help, advice or other leads appreciated.

    thanks
    Ross

Thank you Jim and Dan for the advice. Fusick will definitely be worth an email, they appear to have a good collection of parts.

Restoration Specialties can supply rear screen clips but advise that the front ones were specific to the car and will be hard to find, as are the beltline clips. I believe some early Chev / Pontiacs from the 40's may share a similar beltline clip.

I have had responses from some wrecking yards and others so will probably source some second hand ones.

I broke a few beltline trim clips for the side of my 55 buick. I went to ace and bought some nylon fender washers and small bolts. i glued the bolts onto the washer and Trimmed the sides of the washer to fit snug inside the trim. then Removed the inner interior panels where necessary and put the nuts on the bolt threads. The trim is now way snugger and fits the bodies contour much better. and at a cost of less than 5 bucks...

55 Special, thanks for the advice.

My beltline clips go into captive holes so it would mean drilling more holes and then having to use tweezers or similar to get the nuts on from the back side.

I have found a solution. 1956 Chev 210 sedan beltline clips (original style) will work with a small amount of grinding to the top edge.

    Thanks all for the responses.

    56 Buick Boy,
Thanks for posting that. I will be doing the same thing in a couple weeks. Some of the old ones came out ok but several were too rusty.
