1939 Buick Rainier Blue Color Question?

Hi, Gang. I'm having an awful time coming up with a color match for 1939 Buick Rainier Blue. This is a dark, dark blue, with maybe a hint of purple. It is so dark that is some light it actually looks almost black. Has anyone worked with this color, and come up with either a good match....or a more modern color interchange from another car? I appreciate all help on this one, but please don't just tell me that a good auto paint store ought to be able to match it!! I've tried two of the best suppliers in our state, and neither place could hit Rainier Blue. Any ideas or sources?? Thanks much, John in WIsconsin

    Hi,
This is my first post...and probably a selfish one. I can't really help you finding the right color for your car. I'm just beginning to fix up my family's 39 buick Specal. It's Sierra Blue. This is the second time it's been "fixed up." The first was when I was 16. Dad just got it painted for me. It wasn't a very good paint job, though.
Anyway, the reason I'm writing you is for resources to help ME fix up MY car. (This was the selfish part!)
Anyway, I need rubber seals, aluminum trim and a wire harness...to start with. Any resources?

If you have a sample already on the car somewhere most modern paint stores can read it with a light gun and mix to match from there.

    Ditzler laquer #10070

    Ditzler enamel # DQE

I question whether you can still get the laquer in that color. Few shops still have a laquer rigg. Personally, I would not try because it will oxidize so fast. The enamel does not have the shine of the modern base coat clear coat which is what I would use.
