would love to buy this as a daily driver, but i just cant fathom the $18,500. i hope the seller gets his asking. but to me its just a really nice plain jane skylark. i would be all in at 12 or even 13 grand just because its unmolested. i can live with the green but not at anywhere near what he is asking.

I notice looking over the paper work that goes with this car that it was purchased at long ago defunct Brooks Buick of Towson, Maryland - Not even three miles from my home. I'm sure Dano remembers this dealership, also.
This car is a time capsule, but, needs a lower price for serious consideration IMHO. It is in remarkable condition, though.

you gotta wonder how a car like this has only 18k miles, i would consider a few must do things if i was to purchase this as a daily driver. things such as changing diff fluid, trans service, coolant being flushed. i doubt they have ever been done with such low miles. then what kind of shape is rad and heater core? will they need to be redone/replaced? interior looks mint but is 55 years old like the rest of the car, electrical ect. is foam, burlap, seat covers dried out. i have had a couple mint survivor type cars and i go nuts when your driving around and dried up seat foam is blowing around and in your eyes lol. like i said i would love to get this car at a reasonable price, because i know i am going to throw a few bucks into it!

Buy it, paint it white with GSX stripes, ralleys, and drive it around. NO RUST...nice!

Wonder if it's undercoated, that messy chit would reduce value.

In a few years, there will be a post that sez; 'Damn!, I should have bought that survivor '68 Stepchild with 18k miles for $18 grand.

Cuz, ain't no one driving to the nearest Buick Dealer and buying one today, let alone tomorrow.

Yeah, $18k seems like a lot, but how often will any of us see this again.

Every day, and there is one less car.

    Tick-Tock

(We could have bought that car for about $1000 in 1978)

I just want to say I hate Mart's idea of painting this rust free original paint car? To make a clone Clown car?

    No thank you!

Agree with Michael. Seems a lot, but not really considering how few low mileage rust free original paint 1968 cars are in existence.

I believe you are right about being worth $12-13,000, hold out for a few months and you might get your wish! Patience pays.

What do you the asking price would be if seller left the original barn dust on it..... We all know 5 gallons of BD is worth its weight in gold.....

This seller bought it from someone in Pennsylvania. It was for sale last spring for 25k originally. The last I saw of it on Marketplace, they reduced the asking price to 20k.

Of note, the last seller did not advertise it as having only 18k original miles.

Nice Skylark. Wonder if the miles are legit...

You couldn’t repair and paint a rusty stepchild for 18000. Buy it, add some performance to it, and have a fun street car. If I had the room……..

Back in the day (like "Once upon a Time...) odometer numeral lined up until the "roll over" at 100,000 miles and then the numbers were not longer "aliened", but appeared "offset", so a car with less than 99,999 miles showing, the numbers were aligned (top/bottom), and after, the numbers were "staggered" a bit, top/bottom.

So, this odometer appears to be legit, 18,000

I don't know,,,,,, I got a dash out of my old 67 that has 139,000 plus... The numbers line up....... strait as a arrow..

My question is every low mile car or truck I ever bought with all that paper work also came with one set of factory keys. If not both.

    sticker on rad,,,, questionable......

I certainly can't state it is "fact". But in the 50 years I have dealt with cars, anything that rolled over, had "misaligned" numbers. That certainly is not "scientific".

As far as I can recall, I never saw a "straight" odometer reading over 99,999 miles.

But that does not mean I am right. :)
