I wish this was under different circumstances. Most of you know my story about the VIN altered car that I purchased. Well, a local TV station FOX 59 in Indianapolis interviewed me about internet purchasing. A Buyer Beware format story. My ugly mug will be on the 10PM news if you are here in Indiana and are able to get this channel. The only real positive out of the story, I was able to put both of my Buicks on TV. That in itself is very cool. I'm excited to see how they put the story together. I was able to give them a ride in my 72 zz car. Bob Donaldson the local News anchor and the Cameraman Jamie really liked my cars. Jamie was pretty impressed with laying posi burnout strips at 40mph. I hope the cops don't come after me for an unsafe takeoff, if they air that portion of the interview. Thanks for reading! Troy
Congrats, do you know when it will air? To bad it wasnt Tracy Wells covering the story. I would like to give her a ride :Brow: in my car anytime. Bob Donaldson seems pretty cool, i like knowing they went for a ride.
Tracy, or Catt Sadler Yeah, one of my other buddies was asking if Catt was interviewing. Oh well PR is PR. But, it airs today, Tuesday Nov. 18 @ 10 pm.
That is what I planned to do. Someone will have to offer their services. I don't have a video out / in board to record to the web. I also don't have any space to park the file for sharing. So, I would love to do it, but don't really have the technical knowledge or equipment to do so. Any offers? Troy
I will have a tape. Oh yes, I plan on having a couple of copies of the tape. I will send it to you, if you really don't mind me taking advantage of you. Troy
I just posted in the original thread about the altered vehicle... what's the status update of working with the police?
In the prosecutors hands now Although it was slow moving the police have filed the case with the prosecutors office. After that, I really don't know. But things are moving very, very slowly in my opinion. But, the seller of the vehicle is hiding behind his attorney. His attorney contacted the police that are investigating. Told them to only talk to him. This guy is guilty as heck. After this, I wish he would've taken the easier route of just giving me my $ back. But, I tried to play nice guy. He doesn't like that game. I wish I could share all, but, I just don't know who reads these threads. For all I know, he could have joined and reads all of the updates as much as we do. But, I also have the civil side of this going as well. I can't wait to tell you all about that, but, again, I really need to wait. Believe me, I really want to spill the beans. But in time. Thanks for all of the concern! Troy
the story was pretty well told for a news story. at least FOX News has the interest of the common man. now come on tell us really about Catt or Joni
Maybe a follow-up story for a.m. news Maybe Catt will do a follow-up of "Where it's att" about going fast with class. I won't be holding my breath on that one. But, I'm pleased with the way it went. As most know, there was a bit more interview taped and many more shots of the cars. I wish I would have know there was an inch of dust on the blue car. I would've arrived a bit earlier to do some cleaning. But, I was pleased. I will try to get a tape of this sent to one of the volunteers to convert it to an electronic file for the web.
let me know..... Id also make an extra copy......to send to the dirtbag !!! ....ohhh yeah....his lawyer too :Brow: :TU:
I just read the old thread. Wow what an amazing story. Really makes you sit down and think. Makes me scared to think about buying a car. My need for another GS will over come that.
If you want it.... I'm sure your read the part, "You didn't go see the car in person?" questioned over and over. I'm sorry to say, that is where I was wrong in my purchase. I felt I was able to trust this seller. But, unless you have an unbiased, knowledgeable Buick inspector confirm the correctness of the description. You can't believe what you have been told. Have it inspected, go see it yourself.
Yes I understand what you are saying. I am really interested in a 69 GS posted on this sight. I am going to try and find someone to look at it. However until I see it myself and inspect it like you said no money will change hands. I really hate to see things like this happen to people. Things like this happen when the prices for Muscle cars go through the roof. People see $$$$$ signs and think knowone will care or notice. I truly think you are doing the right thing. :beer I hope that it all works out for you. Never give up, Never surrender :blast:
