I hope this is the right forum for this. I bought some replacement 1/4 window guide rollers for my '66 Skylark but the shafts are so tight in the rollers that they don't roll. Are they supposed to or do they just slide through the channels? The old ones roll but they are so worn out and floppy that the windows dropped down about a 1/2 inch at the front and wouldn't line up. Thanks for any help
Here's a pic of what I bought. The one on the left is what I got from OPGI and the one on the right is a roller that Postons got for me from GM that I put on my old shaft. Both are too tight to roll. Oh, the rollers from Postons were .75 each and the rollers and shafts from OPGI were 7.95 each! I posted this question on another board as well and got this response: re: window guide rollers It's more of a guide than a roller. Put some light grease on it and it will work just fine. Bob So thats one for "its a guide" and one for "its a roller". Anyone else want to weigh in?
