1 1/4 Swaybar hits tie rod end?? No more adjustment. Thoughts?

1972 A body GS. I am having interference issues on the sway bar. My old solid 1 1/4 bar and now my new Hellwig 1 1/4 are rubbing against the tie rod on my passenger side. I have adjustable links on my new lower arms....but I discovered it was rubbing with my old original lower arm and the standard end link set up when I switched them out. I can't adjust it any higher and it still interferes 1/16.

I have owned this car for 20+ years, have never wrecked it, and don't see any signs of accident damage that would cause this.

    Anyone experienced this?

Have a look at the sway bar. Will flipping it around help? The ends that attach to the links should bend UP. It is possible to mount it upside down and that would reduce the clearance to the tie rods. You may need longer links also. Take a careful look. A picture would be a big help here.

Seen it done and didn't think it possible but it will bolt up and cause all sorts of issues.

I have tubular upper and lowers with mostly stock height. Mine was a little close and it only actually rubbed on the adjusters for the tie rod ends. What I did was loosen them up, just the adjuster straps, and rotated them out of the way. Those bolt ends will snag the bar as they work through the arc on a bouncing corner was usually when I noticed it.

If that fails, you might try longer end links. I found a set for a second gen T/A worked well for me. You could also gain a small amount by putting an extra (one of your old ones) bushing washer between the inside mounts.

If you take a pic, it might help us offer more comparisons to what we've done that works.
