What kit is everyone using when they do the upgrade to the bigger bar? I read on George's site where he says to use the 9.8117R kit (listed as fitting 71-81 Trans Ams), but I'm also seeing where the 9.8118R kit (listed as fitting 68-72 A-bodies) is also used. I remember trying to figure this out before and if my memory isn't failing me, there is a length difference between the two kits. Is one preferable to the other? Thanks

Unless the bar is shaped radically different than a stocker, stock end links should be fine. As long as the links are long enough to fit the bar and bushings with enough thread engagement, you are fine. If necessary, mount the bar and get under there with a tape measure to figure out what link length is necessary to get the bar level and perpendicular to the link.

I'm using the 9.8118 Energy Suspension set and appears to work fine not only for GM A-bodies but also for my '02 F150 :pp - gotta set in both!

And you used an 1 1/4" bar? Thanks for the info.

Anyone else use either one and any trouble?

Actually, I'm using them with a Hellwig 1-5/16 front bar, slightly larger in diameter than yours. So you should even have just a little more wiggle room for your install with the 9.8118

My general setup is 1-5/16 front, 1" rear, Bilstien shocks all around, UMI Performance rear control arms.
