  2. In and effort to reduce the spam on the site, several years ago I had went to a program where I manually approve each and every new registration. This approval gives you full access to the site, to pictures, and to post, among other things.   3. The "Group Buy" for the 1967-68 Deluxe Steering wheel recasting is now officially "Open". Now is the time to start sending in the wheels. The latest date that the wheels must be received by Kochs is 31 March 2025 The cost for each wheel is $750. The only "up front cost" is your shipping the wheel. If you send in more than one wheel, each additional wheel will cost $700. Shipping and insurance to Kochs and return shipping will be extra. You will be contacted by Teresa to make payment for the wheel(s) and return shipping and insurance when your wheel(s) is complete. The shipping will be factored on your delivery address and insurance. I will be sending the contact information all of you have sent me to Teresa at Kochs. ‘71 SURVIVOR GSX: The Non-restoration

    Today was finish up the few mechanical things the car needed, replaced the positive battery cable , found the wire to the alternator that had a crap repair in The past and was making the gen light come on, and tighten the carb bolts they were lose. Mechanically car is sound. Cleaned the front bumper inside it was black with dirt grease and grime. Now back to polishing the old paint.

    This little polisher is actually great, variable speed and easy to control Half way done now.

    Thats original 50yr old laquer paint from the factory. This is an untouched 1 owner Survivor car with 70,000 miles.

    Swapped out the wrong lug nuts for the right ones, nice to be a parts hoarder from time to time.

    I thought so but you never know.
    What pad and polish if different from the pictures did you use?
    Reason for the question is I have two original paint cars that need polishing.

    Machine polish with a hard pad then softer pad with micro-polish.

    DA or random orbital polishers don't take much material off. I can go pretty aggressive even on original paint cars. I pretty much use the same method as Brent.

    Those would be correct for the small block cars but some guys cut them down to 2.5 inches to fit.

    1386814 is the '69 - '71 big block foam number.
