After reading this post I wondered about the actual weight of my car, looked in the manual and could not find anything about weights either.I was looking for the title of a trl. that I sold and found it with my cars owner's manual, all the weights and towing:beer capacities were there.Check your owner's manual.
Washington state DOL has my 1976 weighed in at 4752lbs. The Standard Catalog of Buick says it weighs 4709lbs. I'd say anywhere between 4700-4800 with no driver. The Park Avenue probably weighs a tad more than the 225 and the limited..
i weighed my 71 gs 455 convertible at a weighing station and without driver and a half tank of gas /spare she weighed 3900 lbs.i was suprised i always thought the convertibles were heavier.
Here is an apparent original MSO (Mfg'r Statement of Origin) for a 1972 Estate Wagon 3 seat showing a shipping weight of 5137 lbs. I know this is not GVWR. I came across this under eBay auction for a 266 mile (not a misprint) original Estate Wagon (which reminds me a lot of my Dad's 1973): http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Othe...wItemQQcategoryZ6472QQitemZ200091471163QQrdZ1
That 1972 wagon just went off E-bay for $34,307.00 Reserve not met, nice car but yikes that's a lot of money for a wagon.
Mike, How ya been? I've been having a rough time lately and not much driving. :3gears: I agree with what you said about the weight of your 76 Buick Electra. The State DOT, knows what they weigh and are accurate because of legal regulations. :Comp: My Michigan Registration, as of this month, my plates were renewed on my birthday, said 4521 pounds. Older cars are charged by weight and newer cars are charged by value, in Michigan. My 1976 Buick Electra 225 Limited 2 Dr. Coupe, weighs 4521 lbs. according to the Secretary of State, The State of Michigan. :TU: Best regards to all, Paul.
