Fiddling with the new disc brake MC and booster for the 67. It looks like I can get away with making only one new brake line as the hold off valve uses a different size fitting than the drum brake system .
Took the "new" AlphaLark out today for the first time since switching to NA/pump gas. I must say that I was impressed! Ready to roll in BG!!!!!
Started up my poor neglected Centurion. Despite sitting for years, a splash of gas down the Q-jet and it starts right up. Unfortunately it likely spun the front cam bearing as the driver's side rockers are rattling and don't appear to be getting any oil. Engine still makes plenty of oil pressure and sounds good otherwise. Once I get the Firebird up and running again I plan on pulling this engine and changing the cam bearings out and probably put a small roller cam I have on the shelf in it. Go through the TH400 at the same time. I'll knock a bunch of the paint off and maybe rattle can paint it until I have the time/money to spend on the body work. So hopefully up and driving around this summer! https://www.youtube.com/shorts/5Oq1nwCnzsw?feature=share
Finally got back out to Arizona to finish building the Stage 2 engine and while here started up the Stage 1 for first time since before Christmas, had it for 14 years and I still think it’s a bitchin car.
Finished rebuilding my heater control valve and completing the entire heater assembly... except as I delve into some of the particulars of the controls.... thinking of S-canning the whole set-up. Shop manual is of very little help- it'll never work as intended. Vacuum lines, Bowden cables, flapper doors, dashpots, mid-year changes, manual / automatic heat... cripes.
I replaced the guide and a roller in my 1/4 window, bled the convertible top lines and installed a new radiator. Something fell into the old aluminum radiator I had in the convertible while I had it out resealing the timing chain cover. The new driveshaft to finally complete the TKX 5 speed conversion is supposed to be here tomorrow. I also helped my son do a quick front end alignment on his 464 powered '85 Regal. He just completed a Wilwood Disc brake and BMR upper and lower control arm install on it. We got it drivable so he can get it to an alignment shop soon.
Replaced my steering box with a correct one from Carhex, hand stapled my new fender skirts on (not a fun job) and routed my heater hoses. Getting closer to ready for BG with the Black Car.
Tried the staple thing once and gave up after an hour farting around with it. Used pop rivets instead and still holding for over 10 yrs.
