Cool! I didn't know a rear disc was available. Is that a drum brake in the front? And it's well optioned.... speedometer, and it still has the front and rear reflectors. Owners manual too, is the protecto-plate in it too? I restored a bike when I was 12.... It was a Sears 24 incher with 5 speed, dual rear caliper brakes and racing slick redline rear tire. I stripped the paint off down to bare metal and repainted it. 3 years later I bought my 66 GS to restore but continued to ride bikes ever since. I'm still riding at 61 y/o, mostly mountain bikes. I never grew up!
Nice the rich kid's bike! Never had one but there seemed to be one or two Kids in the neighborhood that did. What's a Primo Fully restored one go for. Not a buyer just Curious?
This one sold for 4 grand. And it's not a disc brake. The rear disc krates are far more desirable https://www.ebay.com/itm/403918534853
We really enjoyed the bike display at MCACN this year. Lots of Schwinn Krates ! My favorite you almost never see The Cotton Picker.
Dang! I had no Idea they brought that kind of money! I can see why people restore them. What did they sell for New?
I swear those little generators took at least 10 leg horsepowers to run. Id be hauling butt and flip the lever engaging the generator abd it was like hitting the brakes
So I wound up taking this whole bike apart and did a restification on it. Everything came apart down to the ball bearings in the derailleur gears. Used a gallon of evaporust on the chrome. That stuff works amazing btw. Polished the original paint, greased every ball bearing. I even had to re-spoke the front wheel. Only parts I replaced were the cables, the seat, tires (expensive), sissy bar (it was roached) and the water slide decals for the shifter. I put about $700 into it. Came out really nice! It pops now. Its too nice for the garage so it's in my office I'm probsbly going to put it up for sale in the next week or so.
Cool bike. My buddy has a cherry ‘73 Apple disc, looks just like yours. And a trio of ‘71 Manta Rays that we rode around at the nationals the last couple years. Fun bikes. People love them.
Hey StevieRay, Who are your buddies? They were at the campground chili party Friday night. I don’t remember their names. I’ve met them two years in a row. You would think I would remember their names. Dang old age! Were you there?
