These cars however much we love them, in the end they are just money sitting there for a rainy day, sorry it’s raining. The Sun will shine again, best wishes.

Well, I threw a cover over it, put it on some dollies, and pushed it to the side of the garage. Too many times I have kicked myself, much like MANY of you, saying “I should’ve kept that one”… well, I’m NOT going to do that this time.

I WILL BE DRIVING IT TO A BUICK EVENT NEXT YEAR! Whether it’s BCA or GSCA, it will be at something!

    thank you for the support!!!!

Bigger piece of the project was repaired and delivered Saturday!!!
Thank you Joe- 436’d Skylark- for recommending a local furnace welder in VT! It was a coordinated effort between Joe, his friend Pete (Pontiac guy) and myself to get this done!

I have an excellent 16" thumb groove that will be going into this... I would like to figure out how to restore the rim blow. I may just restore the wheel for looks- dig out the groove, lay down some aluminum foil, then mix up a little epoxy in that color, and pour it in...? I will NOT pay $1100-$5000 to have it restored!!! LOL

I like your plan, George. The rim blow might be a cool oddity but nothing beats the thumb groove rally steering wheel.

I'd definitely dress that weld up a little.

The casting was so thin there he had to put a pretty big booger on it. The combination of the excessive porting and then rust from inside the port necessitated it. He was a little apprehensive to grind it smooth.

If the whole engine was apart it would be nice to put that had on the other bank to hide the repair, but it is what it is.

Peter- I will! I planned on it yesterday but had to replace the engine on my lawn tractor. I have a set of 1970 455 generic heads and my calipers.. I will post side by side with measurements.

I had reached out to Juan to send me pictures of his car- as it was the same color combination. Here is what this stage would look like restored...
