I was told the car got towed in and was able to get the address of where it was picked up. I went to the guys house to try and make a deal with him. Maybe buy the title and then pay the fines at the yard. When I approached the guy, he was very upset over the whole thing. It had been sitting in the street with no plates. Says his new neighbors ratted him out to the town. I told him his car was towed by the town and it's going to be auctioned off come May 23rd. This this a few days after it was towed. I explained that I didn't care if I bought from him or he got it back. If the town auctions it. He gets zero. He gave me his number and said he would call his son. He seemed to be under the impression that the town was going to send him a letter. They don't. First, the csr hasn't been registered for years. After 8 years, the vin is deleted off the database. So if you run the vin, it comes back "not on file". He needed to go claim his property. The responsibility was on his part which he didn't get. He didn't do anything. I called, texted him....no answer. So it went to auction. Oddly, it's white with a silver interior
Had to go to impound this morning and pop a new lock cylinder in it so the tow guy can get it out of gear and straighten the wheels. Had to break through the flashing to get it out. No one's been there before! Tow has been paid and it's getting delivered today!
Ha, I guess you didn't call the former owner and ask him to meet you at the impound lot and bring the keys? Oh, and ask him to bring any documentation for the car as well if he has it. Maybe a window sticker or P-O-P.
I wouldn't go anywhere near that old coot.. being a vette, I gotta believe there is a way you can order every document. remember life in prison means nothing to someone that old. He might trade his freedom for the satisfaction of blowing your head off with a 12 gauge. Balls don't factor in here.. smarts do. JW
Preliminary cleaning. It wasnt mice but squirrels. I filled a garbage bag full of oak leaves. It looks a 100times better It's got this oil change sticker. You can barely make out the date- 1981. From Gerken Chevrolet. They changed the oil at 23,141. I'll bet money that was the selling dealership Shot of the interior. I'm dying to scrub it. It's gonna gleam. Shes a little rough around the edges
