when you are going thru waterbury (not fun) check your map-in-the-box and see if 691-91 or 84-2 is busy. AND it all depends on what time you are going thru the area. if you leave early am, getting to glastonbury shouldn't be a problem either way. but if you get here mid afternoon, all bets are off. don't call us, we'll call you. lol radio 1080 am or 88.9 fm for traffic hourly
Not to Knock any truck driver, but the backhaul is not the customer's problem. There are many car deliverers who use brokerage services to get a load for the bounce round. The guy who delivered the Buchev from MA to FL sure as hell wasn't going to make the 1,500 mile trip back to Massachusetts empty.
I decided to not get involved..Wear and tear on my truck and trailer will be for my convenience. I'll help local people and friends if they need.
True the backhaul is not the customers problem, however in the case of someone not in the business, they need to cover their expenses, and hopefully show a little profit. They most likely, don't have a back-haul, nor the time to line one up. The only choice is to charge accordingly, the customer can take it or leave it! Bob H.
