As a lifelong cold weather car washer, my recommendation is simple.. JB 80 in the lock cylinders (if your using a key) and then run it thru the automatic wash and dry, and then simply wipe the door seals and the area where they contact down with a dry towel. This will prevent the seal from freezing to the body. If you do get a frozen door, then a couple gallons of hot water will take care of it.. just pour it around the outside of the door jamb area. But if you simply wipe down the seals when you get it out of the wash, you should be fine. JW
Same here in MA almost. Was said to be 23* and went to do some shopping before it gets even colder. Wow was is windy and blistering. Almost brought me to tears
Currently -17° with the windchill and expected to get down to around -40° by the morning. I'm honestly considering a move south in the next few years. New England sucks.
Hopefully it gets warmer out for you guys soon! Me and a co-worker were outside working all day, i can agree the wind was brutal. Supposed to "warm" up this weekend an be in the 40s next week. Hopefully we dont see the -40° like brett slater is talking about
“Your” cold spell came through south Florida. Sure I’m glad I ran my sprinklers after I mowed the grass sweating my butt off! We got no rain out of the cold front, and it’s not very cold. It’s 11:51 PM and it is 70°, but it is really windy in the front yard where the wind gets you. BURR!
Wow, Brett your only what 15 or 20 miles from me? So -17 at around 8:00 at night. I didn't look at the temps at that time. Weather channel now shows -7 with feel like temp at -28! Even colder in Brockton. Yes MA can get cold but this is insane Then in a few days on Sunday and Monday and the week its going to be around 46* to 49* What is going on??
Currently 4*F, feels like -13*F. High temperature today is 25*F, Tomorrow, it warms to 46*F, and into the 50's this coming week.
We went to our cottage on the St. Lawrence River (northern NY border with Canada) last night and it was -15F when we got here, but the wind was howling around 30-35MPH wow. I think it got down to -22F, but the wind stopped. With the exception of our little bay, the river was wide open last night and it froze solid overnight. Mini-splits? They said yeah right, so kerosene and wood it is.
-12 F this AM in the burbs of Boston... The good news was it was also "wicked windy".... So, it felt like -35 below... Today is a day to celebrate fuel injection, remote start & heated seats!
The cold yesterday and last night shut down several hospitals - causing them all to go into “disaster” mode. Brigham & Womens, St Elizabeth’s, Winchester, and Boston Medical Center all had pipes burst - causing flooding in the ER’s and other departments. All had to go on diversion to incoming ambulances and helicopters. BMC is still on a code black….
Be thankful you weren't atop New Hampshire's Mt Washington this past Friday. The air temperature was -46° F, which isn't that bad when there's no wind. However, the winds up there tend to blow very strongly, resulting in a -108° F wind chill!! That's likely the all time coldest temperature ever recorded in the USA. Strangely enough, some hardy daredevils attempt to hike in such conditions. They're nuts. https://www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2023/02/04/mount-washington-wind-chill-record/
February in Lethbridge, last week it was cold and snowing. This week, +9 ( +48 F). I love it here. If I had my car, it would be on the road, but that is another story.
