They played here on Saturday. Dusty wasnt feeling well so he stayed home. They needed to use a fill in bass player. Sad News
Very sad. I feel fortunate to have seen the band at the NYS fair a few years ago. We are loosing too many of the musicians of my youth. RIP UticaGeoff
We were suppose to see them in 2 weeks at Washington county fair in Missouri. The fair always draws big acts. I have never seen them live and never will. Sad indeed
A sad bit of news, indeed...they have been the soundtrack for a lot of my adventures throughout the years.
RIP Carry-on - "Back in July, the band's official site shared that Hill was being sidelined due to a "hip issue." The band's longtime guitar tech, Elwood Francis, stepped in for Hill. "Per Dusty's request, 'The show must go on!" the band had written in a statement."
I heard it on the radio today and it blew my mind completely! I've been wanting to see them play for years and never got the opportunity to. R.I.P. Dusty! Live on in heaven sharp dressed man, cheers!
RIP Dusty. Went to 3 or 4 of their concerts over the years. We are all getting older......no doubt about it.
“Hot Blue and Righteous” on the Craig cassette player in my GS Long before the Eliminator album changed everything. 70s ZZ, blues rock that matches me, and I must say, a big block GS too…..,. Steve weim55 Colorado
By birth too young for the 70s-stuff, I got hooked in the 80s with the Eliminator. Have seen them twice during Open-Airs here in Germany. So cool! RIP Dusty You know you are getting older, when more and more of your teenage idols move on.
The wife & I saw them at Harrah's Casino in Tunica, MS in 2008 or 2009. It was the grand opening of the casino and the wife got us a free room with her points. The concert was sold out so were weren't planning on going. The night of the concert, we were riding the shuttle bus back to the hotel and a lady sitting opposite us asked if we were going to the concert. We said no, couldn't get tickets. She reached in her pocketbook and pulled out two tickets. She said she had two and couldn't go so she gave them to us! The concert was starting in less than an hour so we stayed on the shuttle bus and went right back to the casino. I figured the tickets were for the balcony but they were the high-dollar floor tickets. We watched ZZ Top while sitting on a leather couch about 25-30 feet from the stage with waitresses bring us free food and drinks! It was great!
