I'm not into exotics and prefer American iron, so a nicely upgraded 65 Riviera GS with a little help under the hood would work for me, if not that a 66/67 Big block Corvette would do the trick! Bob H.
This car. Pricewise it's not in the supercar class but I restored this car about 10 years ago for the 2nd owner. It is a numbers matching RAIV, 4 speed car. The original owner had added headers, Mallory dual point, aluminum slotted wheels and a few other things but he had the good sense to keep everything that he ever took off the car, and when I restored it all that stuff went back on the car. It has won Gold awards at the GTOAA, POCI, and has also won a couple Concours De Elegance shows. In one of the pics are my wife and I, taken in July, 2012 at the GTOAA show in St. Charles, IL. This was a little more than a year before she came down with Transverse Myelitis and became wheelchair bound. I treasure that picture because it seems to be the last one I have of us when she could still walk. She passed away on October 17, 2020.
I'm not a super car guy either. At this point I'd like to have a 59 Buick wagon with all the fixins! Once in awhile i think about selling the Skylark to finance it. I'd love a 67 GS400 as a driver too
1967 427/tri-power 435 horse 4-spd stingray Corvette Like Duane's being able to drive that stang, I got to drive one of these way back when and it is the most powerful car I've ever driven!
1969 Pontiac GTO Judge. I had one. A junked one in late 80s. Still have the Pontiac Historucal paperwork. This time. Black on black. 4 speed. RA IV. 3.55 power windows, tilt, hideaways. Handling package, hood tach. Ps,pb. Just upgrade now to 15” wheels. No need for exotics. I’m not exotic.
I agree. My uncle has a 68 L-89 corvette. Aluminum heads, 3 2bbls, 4 speed and Daytona yellow from the factory. I'll take mine in black but that's at the top of my list. Ken
The 2-seat XP-75 would be cool. 2 built, 1 MIA. Or one of the circa '40s GM designs, I especially like this Buick proposal: Or this:
Hey Duane, there's a local guy with your dream car here, and he drives it quite a bit even though its GORGEOUS....he even showed up to one of our autocrosses with it. Super cool guy and car, even has Kelsey Hayes Magstars on it. This is a pic from one of our cruises this summer.
I'm also an American car guy so: Modern- it would be the new 2021 C8 Corvette Z06. Classic - it would be a 1970 GS Stage 1 with every available option from the order sheet that could possibly be gotten on the car plus added sport mirrors, & spoilers front a rear. (only option I would leave off is a vinyl top) Color would be Stratomist Blue with blue buckets interior.
How many of ya would actually daily drive it though? Idk about the bird but I'd drive the piss out of the GT. And when I got older and senile I'd lead the police in a high speed chase and total it. Thus ending a great chapter in the GTs life.
This one https://www.bugatti.com/media/news/2019/bugatti-la-voiture-noire-a-one-off-car-for-the-anniversary/ I'd own it for as long as it took me to sell it, retire, and buy a few of my real favorite cars!
