Cool deal Bobb! Will a 4340 SBM crank bolt into it? Then later you could really throw some boost at it...:idea2:
never checked it out I would have to research it. I would have no issue with hitting it with 12or 13 LBS and that would still be pump gas. I just don't think the p1sc will support the power we are spinning it faster now then I thought we would have to to get the boost we are at if I only had a reverse rotation f1 then we could make some stem. steve thinks it is in need of a bigger charger already hat why it only made 630 ya only is what he said he thinks that there a bunch left in it with more boost.
Nice!!!! Sounds sweet. Congrats to your son for a sweet build! Nice to see the father and son thing too. He's a lucky boy. And you're a great Dad.:beer So will a un-girdled 350 block hold together better or longer than a un-girdled 455 with these pro-chargers??? I'm talking original 35-40 year old blocks here....no aftermarket. What would higher boost numbers do? Again nice job Mackley boys.... This Buick world just got a little bigger. Lon Bauer
yes the 350 block will hold up alot better ungirdled then the 455 block due to its deep skirt design. I'm sure its compareable to what a 231 turbo 6 block can hold( perhaps slightly less) I'm willing to bet a buick 300 will hold up more comparable to an ungirdled lc2 engine then the 350 as its heavier..which means more material then the 350 more boost with this setup would be sweet iu'm sure hd be in the 700hp range with 8 to 10 lbs of boost
Bill Mah has a Buick 350 that he had built with very good parts and a F1 procharger. He used ported stock intake, ported stock heads flowing 290 intake and 200 exhaust, stock stroke and 30 overbore so 355 cubes. His Buick 350 block has been proven to hold over 1000 hp and 8 second quarter mile times without a girdle or block fill. At lower boost of 12 psi these were the results with pump gas: 838 hp at 7100 rpms and 674 ft of tq at 6000 rpms Adding more boost and race fuel: He made 1021 hp at 6800 rpms and 808 ft of tq at 5750 rpms There is a block girlde being made right now that a number of us are going to use on our Buick 350s that will be using power adders. Might as well add extra insurance for those of us who plan to push the limits.
Yes, the F1 seems to work well on the 350 since that is what Bill used for his 1021 hp pull. With about 12 psi and running it to 6500 the power should be very good, however like you said a larger charger may be needed for that.
sean, any more news on that girdle...thread hasnt been updated in ages...wom was taking up the project...gasoline?
Couldnt you technically with High compression just run lower boost like 3-4Lbs?As long as you are using 91 octane or higher:idea2: Experts please correct me.Russ
I think it's just amazin that the darn thing works seein that the blower is put in backwards :bla:
is it really backwards or maybe yours is and thats the problem they do call anthony's a forward facing charger :bla:
Especially if you add boost referenced intercooling via Water and Methanol. There is way more power to be had with a 8:1 engine though since it can handle some serious boost if tuned right.
I think you guys should do a procharger build basd off a "Kenny" type build. Use Kenny's car, stick a small charger on it and compare the "ET".
