OK, after 3 solid years of racing I finally pulled the Hemi out to be freshen up. I took the Hemi over to Modern Clyinder Head a couple days ago and today we fired her up to get some "before" results before we tear into her. After about 160 passes, 7500 shifts, 7700 through the traps, here`s what she did. We did not move the timing or jet the carbs as of yet. Very Impressive numbers. Your cars overall are very impressive. You've definately helped bring some recognition to this type of racing.
Dave,I saw that bullet in Richmond a while back, very impressive runs.It is very cool of you to post here about it,this will be a very good thread to follow. Thanks and good luck with it.
Nothing secret here: http://www.fastraces.org/members/fa...a2afe874ac32cff3852575d400104d28!OpenDocument Heads flow in the 415 area on the intake..
I do not see anything except for another Hemi or a L88 competing with that level of power in the FAST class. The Plymouth looks like showroom also. Just one night on the town with it could really hurt some feelings stoplight to stoplight.
Actually, I believe this year your gonna see a Pontiac 400 and a 429 Ford dip into the 10.30`s and 133+ and these guy`s will win races this year. I posted this topic here not to brag on the Hemi, i thought it might be interesting to some of you guy`s. Normally everybody keeps everything so secretive..
Depends which Pontiac body is used, weight reduction would go along way. 2 different type of Ford 429's. A wedge head (CJ,SCJ),and the Boss head(hemi).
I think a well ported Pontiac head will go high 290ish? That`s with the best of the best porting them..
The Ford i`m talking about (Lane Careys) is the wedge 429. Here she is: http://www.fastraces.org/members/fa...c853cb964fe4c2ce852576890014cd47!OpenDocument
