Republic of Doyle for me up here on the east coast of Canada. It's set in St. Johns Newfoundland. Jake Doyle is a private investigator along with his dad and the rest of the family solving murders, mystery, and crimes. Lots of fast paced action, the story intertwines from week to week and up until the season finale last week he ripped around the streets in a killer '68 GTO, but it got done blown up in that finale, so it's hard to say what he'll wheel around in next season.
I remember Moving On. I watch a lot of the Military History channel. You had another thread about VHS tapes. I've got the entire series of the TV show Victory at Sea on VHS. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ausVC2NhAo Here locally Andy Griffith, Twilight Zone, and Perry Mason come on every night. I like to watch Perry Mason just to see what cars Mason and Paul Drake are driving!
Yes John, I do remember Movin' On.:laugh: Although it's not the entire reason I got into trucking for a living. The Kenworth still survive today. http://www.flickr.com/photos/31486821@N02/3394175211/ Much of the show was filmed at the Jubitz Truck Stop in Portland, Oregon, where they have several stills from those days hanging on the walls. Hawaii 5-0, although I do believe the scripts are getting weirder since the first season. Storage Wars Horsepower TV Blue Bloods Unforgettable - Yup, it's a red head thing Person of Interest
Hi Jim, I too have the entire VICTORY AT SEA series on VHS. The amazing thing is that I am watching it now. I do this every few years. With the possible exception of Ken Burns' CIVIL WAR series - VICTORY AT SEA is the greatest TV mini-series ever made. 60 years old, and in black and white; it still stands up. Richard Rodgers score - conducted by Robert Russell Bennet - is still the greatest score for a TV series ever written - by far. ---------- Post added at 03:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:04 PM ----------
I was addicted to "24", and before that, "The X-Files". Lately my TV might get turned on once a week, and only for the news. John
"Shaving Ryans Privates" is hands down my favorite,,,,errrr,,,,,,,,,,,,,,wait, what was the question again?
Geez... I had forgotten about Banacheck. That was a great show. Another show that I liked was CRIME STORY. Sadly, they ran out of decent scripts after a year or two. I loved the black Chrysler 300 C (I think) that Dennis Farina drove. Farina could play a tough guy about as well as anyone - except perhaps Lee Marvin in M SQUAD.
My classic favorites: Rockford Files Cannon Chip's Swat Matt Houston Current favorites: Hawaii 5 O Last Man Standing American Pickers
Storage wars (gotta like a sip o' Brandy every now and then ;-) ), Diners, drive ins and Dives, all the CSI's, the original NCIS, Mantracker and lastly, Departures. Oh yeah..... can't forget about Survivorman!!!
Current favs... NCIS Los Angeles Criminal Minds Person of Interest (my current favourite) Blue Bloods Republic of Doyle Rick Mercer Report (love the show, never get time to watch it)
I like the great Japanese Samurai TV series "Zatoichi the Blind Swordsman".Produced in the mid seventies, and all 100 plus episodes available on DVD.I don't watch TV programming anymore these days.
I didn't see any Grimm fans here. Maybe it is because it is set and filmed here in Portland, but I really enjoy that show. So, my list is. Grimm Family Guy Tosh Modern Family The Killing on AMC Mad Men The Finder makes me chuckle a bit Game of Thrones will be on the list when it starts again. Californication and House of Lies was good but Californication is slipping the last few years. Homeland was a good series last year, hope it continues later on this year as well. Dexter too.
