I think you should all check your throttles to see if you getting wide open secondaries on q-jet with stock linkage.

3 out of 3 of our cars were not getting WOT.

I went 6 years cussing my GSX for being a DAWG and it was a simple linkage/gas pedal issue. :Do No:

Similar issues with my '71 350 but a different problem. Back issues cause me to sit a little funny. Knee bent & only the very end of my toe on the gas pedal.
Thought I'd try & get a full foot on the gas pedal one day.........thought I'd found another 75-100HP once the kickdown pulled it down a gear & the Q-Jet opened up!

I ran into this, adjusted my throttle cable and bent my secondary linkage bar a bit, woke it right up. Also unwound my secondary air valve spring a bit, that also was a winner.

I check this all the time. It only has to happen once.

First saw this on a dyno... just checking to see if everything was cool. Found the linkage bound during the first run. Was worth 35 hp if I remember correctly! It's always the simple things!
