YOU would have ATTENDED the Midwest Buick Challenge!
It is sad that this event does not have more support from you
folks out there. It DID NOT rain all day and the program was run and over by 4.The track was hooking extremely well.... one car (exhibition?) was running 6's at 202mph.I did visit with and deliver parts to some fellow board members :) Congratulations to
Indiana chapter GSCA members John Stevens(1st Bracket 1) and
Odell Cantrell(runner-up Super8 V-6) :beer I challenge ALL of YOU

It was nice to meet Wild Bill today at Morocco. I have an updated E.T. 10.37 with 1.34 60' foot brake only. Congrats to Gary Paine who won quick 8 V8 class. Took me out semi final, my .521 light to his .524 light, I had dialed down to 10.35 for the weather then lost traction and fell to a 1.40 60' and a 10.41 to his 10.69 on a 10.67 dial.
Congrats to John Stevens on the win in bracket 1 also.

It was a great day for racing. Cool and the rain held off. Also good to meet and talk to other Buick lovers and to see these cars haul a$$. Congrats to all the winners today. BTW that white 68 that was running 9.70s had me dancing in the stands with those launches!!! Carrying the front wheels for the 1st 30 feet.....sweeeeeet
Hopefully I'll have my car done for next years Buick challenge!!!

    Gary Paine super v8

    John Stevens Bracket 1

    Steve Schlater,Dave Smith Bracket 2

The weather was fine, and the track hooked well, hope I amused a few of you that witnessed me fling out of my black 71 GS, to snuff out a little ole' carb fire then get DQ'd oh well!

lets all plan on heading to Cecil county October 10th & 11th

    see you there, Bruce

Steve , I got to add that you guys have one of the best looking GS's I have ever seen. Something about pillar coups and poverty caps. Great job on the win BTW. :TU:

Bruce, saw the carb fire, shame you got a DQ for it. Worst thing to go that far and have something that trivial kill your day. WHat happened? You catch the ram air box foam on fire?

Mike, just a slight singe effect one the foam, I have been having some carb issues lately, usually a slight stumble off idle does the trick, then poof! fire!
will get it under control for the Cecil County event, the event was a fun one , and I could not have lost to a better guy than John Stevens who went on to win his first event ever!
