LOL! I use the horn ALL the time. In my Buick and in my truck. I am sooooo tired of these people sitting at a red light looking at their smartarse phones and when it turns green, their heads are still down and I (along with 5 or 6 cars behind me) am sitting there. But I don't just blow it once. I put my hand on the horn until they start to move. This usually gets their attention and gets them moving. No one has ever exited their car to confront me on this since they are in the wrong. However, if they want to pull over and "talk" about it further up the road, I have no problem with that. I'm originally from 400 miles north of Toronto and that's where I learned to drive. Everyone knew everyone and we all respected each other on the road especially an out-of-towner having to stop in the middle of my small town and ask for directions. There was never an issue. Now that I am in the city, it appears we are seeing far too many people that only think of themselves on the road. It's sad that it's becoming a ME ME ME world as far as driving in US is concerned. Someone needs to develop a mandatory smartarse phone app that won't allow the user to text or read texts while in a motor vehicle. They'll eventually find a way to do it, it just takes time.

I don't use a mobile phone at all.
But when someone behaves like you while I'm standing right behind the car that's not responding to the green light, I will get out to check if my tail lights are still working.
After that I will do this :Do No: and get back into my car.

So you have to wait again for the light to turn green

You need to take a drive in the US to understand what I am talking about.

And promise me you won't try this stunt in Cleveland. Seriously. Don't do it.

Well, I wasn't busy with my phone, so there has to be something wrong with my car :Do No:

Yeah, maybe some day I will finally get behind the wheel of a vehicle in the US :TU:

Okay, if you insist: I will not promise you that....
But only because your signature is bigger than what you have to say :bla:

I have to agree with the title of this thread. How do you get it in your mouth ????

This, from someone who spells his signature upside down and backwards. Nice job Eric.

There are very specific rules for train horn usage, often spelled out by various jurisdictions. :Dou: In urban areas, residents can petition for a ban on train horn use, even in congested areas.

I've spoken with a few train engineers, aka drivers, who have told me they must rigidly obey all rules and regulations, as there's event recorders to log everything they do. Failure to obey a rule can lead to suspension, or even job loss. When you're in Canada next year, look along rail lines which run next to highways for all the special signs indicating what to do, and when to do it. :TU:

As for tooting the horn at wildlife, be very careful during the rutting season, especially with moose. Moose have been know to turn and attack anything that interrupts their pursuit of mating, even trains!!

By the way, I nearly hit two moose last Thursday evening near Wawa, ON. They were cavorting on Hwy 17 as I approached. With not enough room to stop in the snow, all I could do was slow down, move slightly to the left, and hope they went right. Thankfully, they took the hint, and I missed them by less than 10 feet!!!

Yeah, I almost had a tte--tte with a moose on the TCH in ON.
For some reason their eyes don't reflect the shining of your head lights..... :Do No:

I saw that nowadays a lot of the Big Red Team trucks have moose bars, the lease company was complaining too much about damage :eek2:

Ha, ha, ha, yep me too.... I like to watch them jump.

Virtually everyone you see driving is now talking or texting on a phone and attempting to drive.

You want to see stupid? Drive on a University Campus. I can't believe these people are smart enough to be students or professors. It is a whole new level of idiot.

It all boils down "only what I want is important"!

This is exactly what prompted this post. It seems that today a college education equals a sense of 'I am entitled and the rules do not apply to me.'

Apparently, the moose this truck whacked evacuated its last meal upon impact.

As far as I'm aware, moose are the only animal whose eyes do not reflect light back to you. Must be one of Mother Nature's cruel tricks on we humans. That definitely presents challenges at night!! I was fortunate to be running with a couple of friends at the time of my close encounter of the ungulate kind, so I would not have been stranded.
