A lot of years ago I built a 64 lark with a 430 punched to 442 , hot cam, stage heads, offy 360 intake, Holley 950 cfm three bbl carb, mickey Thompson headders, ram air, 3000 stall converter, th400[sw.pitch], 4;11 posi. m/t slicks. lightened body.
Plain vinella paint job. not eaven rally wheels.
The wife and I was trying the car out and the trans wasnt shifting right. It would not go into high. I was really steamed that I was going to have to pull the trans out again. we were driving alonge on a 4 lane road at about 30 mph in second gear and some clown in a Chebby came roaring up beside me and gooses it. Wrong move!!!!!
I nailed the lark and it broke the 12 in slicks loose , went sideways, and when I got it straight again the bow tie was so far behind I could see the whole car in the mirror thru the tire smoke.
After we slowed down the guy pulls up beside and I could see his mouth saying "B-U-I-C-K"
I cracked up.
