Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum (duh) and wanted to say hello. I'm a complete newbie and about a month ago I purchased a 66 Skylark hardtop. It's a California car with almost no rust-- though with the dents and nasty gold paint, it looks a lot worse than it actually is. It has a rebuilt 300 and the factory 2 speed was upgraded to a 3 speed. It has a new dual exhaust which sounds awesome. I just finished my first project-- ripping out the shot interior. Anyhoo, I'm really new to all this and I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions. Thanks for the cool site! :beer
Ethan, it warms our hearts to see a new lamb in the fold. The 66 'lark looks cool from here (although I had to squint to see it) and if you hang you will learn a lot and most likely will be able to share a lot too. Welcome. The best way to thank those responsible for this site is to participate so I'll be looking for ya.
Uh-- yeah the picture was a little dark-- sorta on purpose so you can't see how bad the paint is! Thanks for the warm welcome!
Ethan - Welcome Aboard!!:TU: Looks like you're pretty close by - I'm currently(until sat.) in Studio City! You'll find quite a few others on the board in the LA area! If you've got other Buick friends, send 'em on in too!:bglasses: Pretty much any question you could have that's Buick related, will get answered here!:Smarty:
Nope, don't have any other Buick friends... most everyone I know just sticks with their practical commuter cars. That's why I need this forum! This site is turning out to be a valuable resource. I have been posting in other general auto forums, but it is very nice to see such a cool forum dedicated to just Buicks.
Congratulations on your exquisite taste in cars! This is easily the best site for V8 Buicks, Ethan. If somebody here can't help you with your Skylark, it can't be done! But I wouldn't worry about that around here...
