I just got off the phone with Doug Hecker who attended the Musclecar Event at Raceway Park Englishtown, NJ. In the Musclecar Eliminator Yardley beat Kenny Voss with '70 GS (running 11.50's) in the semi's with Kenny getting the red eye. Yardley moved up to the finals and ran an Oldsmobile running 11.30's and Yardley beat the guy on a hole shot running the guy out the back door. It was a double breakout. Yardley ran 13.76 on a 13.77 dial-in and the Olds ran 11.26 on an 11.31 dial-in for his very first victory! Congrats to Yardley for his first ever victory!!!! :beer :TU: Also Greg Gessler ran an 11.13. The FAST race was won by a '69 L88 Corvette that ran 10.50's-60's. And congrats to Johnno who ran an 11.69 which is his personal best this year and John Csordas Jr. running his '87 turbo T-Type, John also ran his best, running his first time in the 11's at 11.85. more updates to come....plus Mooney was taking a ton of photos including a very rare photo of Dave Shaker and Ron Mooney hanging together....oh Lord ou:
woo - woo - way to go Yardley! Congrats to all of the Buick faithful at Englishtown! :beer :TU: :beer - Bill
IT WAS A 13.76 ON A 13.77 DIAL-IN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you everyone. I sincerely want to thank all my friends on this board and the BPG. To win an event like this and then pull in to the winner's circle to be greeted by 20 or so rabid Buick friends is just too much! Winning was nice, but winning around YOU people was beyond my wildest dreams. It was sooooo exciting! Thank you again. I deeply appreciate every one of you.
I was wondering about the 14.7x times....I thought I was going to have to give you crap about it:laugh:
....just got off the phone with our resident shephard and BOY !! is he PUMPED :beer :TU: :beer He peeled himself off the ceiling long enough totell me what a great time he had. More than the win iteself, Yardley was taken by all his Buick friends mobbing him in the winners circle for a BIG N.E. Congrats Bro - wish I could have been there to join in the Pile-On Congrats Bud ..... YOU DA MAN !!!
Rick, Mike Spina sends his regards. Oddly enough, I don't get butterflies when I race. I'm pretty focused, so I don't give a thought to it too much.
Boy does that sound like a fun day. In Chicago speak it's kind of like the White Sox winning the World Series after 87 years. Long overdue, amazing, yee ha. Yardley, you need to think like the Bulls now and go for a threepeat. You're like Michael Jordan in a Riviera. Keep charging hard!! You better dial in a little lower next time to be on the safe side though, eh?
Yeah Mike. But EVERYBODY was breaking out. It really cooled off a LOT as the day turned to night, and apparantly I was the only one who kept changing his/her dialin. I just didn't adjust it down far enough.
What a great day! :TU: Congrats to all Dave Shaker too. Great pics. Oh nice trophy Dave Way to go. Great runs guys. Greg Voss Jr. did pretty well too :3gears: :3gears: The VIP suites courtesy of Mr. Mooney was a godsend. ( 1st A/C Then hey its nice and warm in here.) Yards you da man. Nice to have such a big group of fantastic people to cheer and congratulate you all. Buick guys are the best! :3gears: :beer :bglasses: :bglasses:
