Hi y'all, Looking for one of these beasts in any condition. They're most commonly found in the hands of demo derby people waiting to be destroyed - hence the reason I haven't found one yet. (I'm a restorer, not a destroyer.) ANY leads on one would be much appreciated. Chris ________
I've got my eye on eBay, but I know that 90% of these cars that aren't waiting to be ripped apart are sitting in grandma's backyard because she can't drive it anymore... I used to think the demo derby hillbillies got them for cheap, but apparantly they are known to spend up to $2000 for one of these cars! Argh! I hate to say it, but I'm poor, and I'm hoping that there are people out there with too much of a heart to sell their wagon to Billy Bob and Jimmy Ray and might cut me a discount for saving their car from doom. I posted a couple weeks ago about this on another section of this site -- A friend of mine worked the spring in California and scored a 71 Buick Estate Wagon for $700, with absolutely NO rust, PERFECT interior! When he started driving home, it overheated in Phoenix and he couldn't spend the time working on it, so he just flew home. I would have loved to go get it, but school was in the way until May 12. Well, I had a guy who would have stored the car for me till then but my "buddy" just stonewalled me and gave it to some other guy who has no plans of giving/selling it back. Trouble is, I've still got the wagon bug!! Argh! Well, I'll keep looking. Chris
Another eBay car: There's also a '76 on there now that is seemingly pretty nice, for a low "buy it now" OF $1999, I think. Don't know what issue it might have, but for that price it sure looks pretty good. Road wheels, too!
