Looking for a reasonably priced camper similar to the one in this listing. This camper would be perfect except it is 6-12" to long. My truck bed is 7' and I could go another 6-10" before Having issues with the trailer that will be connected. Hoping to have something by the nationals. The pop up top is a deal breaker

Ryans-GSX Have fun, life is short.

I had one many years ago. They are kinda cool but way heavier than you would ever think.

I got mine a few years ago & was hoping I'd use it once in a while but haven't at all. It's 9' & was exactly what I'd wanted. Long enough to have a full wet bath & short enough to tow a trailer behind.

My neighbor bought 1 that was too big for his truck, it had a queen sized bed in the overhang. Dad and I used it a few times to go racing and it worked very well for the 2 of use, mom and the wife came 1 trip and it was tight.... but we have a crew cab dually and it covered the entire cab and bed.

It's still in his garage but we are in Ohio. I think his older smaller one is in there too,

Im going for low profile and compact. For years I've been tent camping at the nationals or sleeping in the back seat of my truck. Its no problem to do so and may do it again this yr. But due to bringing the Hawk and it having to be in the enclosed trailer and stay in the pits that limits me on mobility. In the past I've always had a street legal car to get around.

Most of those cheap pop-ups are junk in a few years,,,,,Wood frame....... If you are set on a pop-up find a Four Wheel Camper. My 9footer weight was just under 1000LBS..... Oven, Stove, 3 way refer, furnace. Aluminum frame with fantastic insulation in the pop-up curtain...... The cheap ones are tent thin......

I popped out the rear window in mine and filled it with a small goldstar AC unit power by a Honda EU2000I .... 110 degrees outside nice and comfortable inside...

So I made a commitment to buy this ...

I contacted the mfg for a list of dealers in my area. 2 closest were either out of business or doing some sort of restructure. Next closest didnt have what I was looking for in stock new or used. The last shot was a dealer down by Waterboy and on the way to his event next week. They had the above unit new old stock on the show floor for over 2 years. Spoke to the owner and said if you can come down to 10K I'll buy. Wasnt expecting him to agree but he did and now Im on the hook. So this yr and going fwd Im stepping up my Nationals camping experience. The squirrels will never get my food again!

If for some reason I dont like it or just does not work for me Im in it low enough to where it should be an easy sell and maybe even a small profit.
