I want to find a late 70s trans Am

    How is this Buick related?

Well I want to transplant a BUICK engine into it.

I have my soon-to-be turbo 350 and my soon-to-be street strip NA 430, and I have only 1 car.

Looking for something relatively closeby, a driver not a concourse resto.

I plan on being mean to it. T Tops a plus

I figure we are all car guys.....
So if you know of anyone....seen one around...etc

any leads appreciated. I am on the HUNT

    Hi Ken,

A '77-'79 Trans Am with T-tops would also be in my garage if I had the room. Just took a look at this one yesterday which is local to me:

But since you are looking to do a transplant how about this one?

I would love another '77 black and gold, 4 speed, 400 trans am. That was one fun car to drive.

The problem is they do go for a pretty fair price!

I've been thinking about one, but I've revised my thinking when I realized that for way less than the price of a good one I can get and early C3 corvette for a daily driver. Not quite the handling and not a big block but a heck of a fun daily cruiser.

A pretty nice one, not the best color though.

This one has a 403 so it's a good choice for a big block Buick upgrade.

Cheap, needs work. Looks like it could be solid.

Pretty good looking one for a cheap price. Automatic but otherwise a pretty good find.

yea something like that is exactly what I am looking for, on the east coast.

I wonder what it would take to freight it across country. Fuel is kinda hi right now.....

A guy I work with has a 1983 since new. Black with grey interior. He really wants it gone. I can put you in touch with him if it is close to what you want. Regards, Upstaged in SW Michigan. He is asking $1700.00

Thanks Upstaged but 1981 is my limit. The knight rider bodystyle is not what I am looking for. Thanks for the tip though.

Looked at a couple this weekend. One was a solid 10th anniversary edition.

That was a possibility excepting I really wouldnt feel right doing anything but a proper restore on that one. And I like different paint.

    Still looking.

This one might be in your price range... I prefer to buy cars that run and drive since then you can see all the little things that may or may not work... When you buy a roller it could be a huge mystery.

I actually drove right past that one on the way home from GSFreds this weekend (on my way to see the 10th anniv TA). Its kinda solid, the paint is Junk. Only problem I really had with it is no Ttops.

It might be worth a road trip down south to find a good one?

I was pretty surprised by the prices when I was looking for you... It seems that everyone wants $10,000 for a car that needs 10,000 put into it!:spank:
