This may be a long shot, but I'm tired of my worn out driver's side door panel. I'm looking for a 70 GS door panel. It would need to have the long arm rest (the type with the plastic chrome piece under the armrest) and be in good condition with no major issues. Any color is fine, as I have no problem changing the color to match.

Logan... Just clarifying.... your car is a 72, right? So are you really looking for a 70 door panel and arm rest??

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

From your pic...you have a 72.....if you install the 70 door panel
Will require you to drill the rear hole for the arm rest and the 70
door panels use 4 screws at the bottom while 71-2 versions use 5 screws...so
you will also need to drill 4 new holes for the bottom screws.

My car is a 72. I got a really good deal a few years ago on a full 70 interior that was in nice shape (aside from this door panel) that I installed. My car is a bit of a mutt when it comes to 70-72 parts...

Ok So, WHAT is bad about your door panels? If its the 'normal" rotten bottom issues, you can easily add carpeting..in fact, Legendary sells a bottom door panel carpet kit...
btw, I have long arm rest bases...

It has several tears in the vinyl along the top ridge (the same area the lock post is in but further forward). I've patched it a few times with different compounds, but it's still a c+at best. Figured I would see what was out there since the other three panels are in great shape.

hmmm. :puzzled: I may have a decent 'section' of the top vinyl from a donor door panel... THAT IS, if no one steps up. Lemono if this is a viable option and I will look into my stash. :TU:

Logan... here is a 70 specific driver side arm rest with backing plate. This is obviously used, and you will need to clean it and diet... oops, I mean DYE it... The pad is worn but fairly sinchy to recover if you have minimal vinyl and contact cement experience... The backing plate is solid,. no cracks, however, the mounting stands were broken off and someone actually used screws with washers to bolt them onto the door panel..UNnecessary step if you install the backing plate WITH the armrest onto the door panel at the same time...This backing plate can be Sprayed with CHROME PAINT or electro metallic revacuumized to be SHOW quality.

FWIW, I HAVE the top vinyl piece of a door panel if you want to get busy experimenting with just replacing the worn out section of your door panel. Just giving you options.

    PM sent.
