harness I just parted down a 64 skylark convertible and removed the complete body harness (firewall back), no cuts, everything is original; ie didnt cut the gas sending unit or the grounds. Jon
Jon, I don't think the 64 is the same. The 65 has 3 light sockets per side for the wider tailights. Unless I'm mistaken. Maybe you want to check that. All I need is the wiring section behind the ribbon harness. Mark
Hi Mark -- These are available new from places like Poston, etc... I think they are around $100. :beer
Mark- I have not seen them, or heard anything about them... But if they are made correctly, (to me) new wires provide a better piece of mind than 41 year old wiring......... o No:
Dan, Part of the issue with mine is when I first bought the car, the tailites worked intermittently. The sockets that plug into the tailight housings were pretty shot, so I bought some new sockets that had wire pigtails on them, and proceded to clip off all the old (black) sockets, and solder new sockets (gray) on, using heat shrink tubing to make it look good. Great for a repair, but not too good for show. So I need something new to replace it. I found a new GM rear harness for my 66 Impala on ebay 5 years ago, but 65 Skylark stuff seems to be much harder to come by, as you know! Mark
