I have a 69 Wagoneer with the Buick 350 that I’m looking to replace. Most long block providers are saying 90 days min even if I give them a core. Anyone have a decently healthy drop in I can purchase in or near North Texas? I’d settle for a long block in a pinch. Not sure if there are any real differences along the production of the 350 that would cause a problem with mounts and accessories. Mine is pretty damn ugly inside for a “ran when parked” claim. Still diving into it but it’s currently locked up and after opening up the intake manifold….I think it’s long/short block time.
Pics of the Wagoneer? Had a '70 as my 1st vehicle. I have a couple 350's here but not near N. Texas. Could ship if need be.
It’s a 69 Custom Special with the center console and floor shift. Pretty rare, supposedly only 750 or so made per year from 69-71. So I’m doing a mostly stock resto and sticking with the Buick drivetrain. What do you have? I’m new here but I guess there’s a way to private message if you’d like.
Saw you PM'd (haven't read yet). Wow, my old Wagoneer also had buckets/console! I've never seen another - Only some pics. Please post some of your interior! Had I kown how rare it was I may not have sold the truck - Would be neat to get another on (I've also had a couple M715's). I only owned it from around '83-87 or so. It'd been run pretty hard before I got it and I never got all the issues worked out of it - Plate on the front was from a snow plow the PO had on it (never buy a plow truck). I put the wheels tires on & had to trim the rear wheelwells (shouldn't have done it but I was young). Also had A/C IIRC, the roof rack, & 3.73 posi - The rear grenaded while I had it & I had to put the rears (3.23 maybe) out of my parts truck in it.
Hi, any 68-80 buick 350 will bolt up no issue. I would try to find a running one in your area, they made millions of them. Or if you do a rebuild it’s not too expensive in most cases. There are a bunch of upgrades that should be done anyway such as grooved cam bearings, new timing set etc.
