    StrokedBuick Got Cubic Inch??

    Does...

    210 isn't really too hot.

3rd Gen Camaros fan's don't click on till about 220 for emissions reasons, which sucks but thats when they have it so dont be too scared unless it goes over that.

Does your fan spin freely when cold?

What PSI cap are you using?

Are you using a Trans cooler mounted to the front of the radiator?

Are they any kind of restrictions in front of the radiator?

Depending on your location. You may wanna try taking some shop air and blowing from the back of the radiator towards the front. I did it to my parents pontiac in AZ and you'd be surprized how much of a difference some dirt in between those fins will make.

Got home from class early and got to go for a spin. It stayed at 200 or a tick below the whole time except for when I stopped and idled for a while, then it was just a tick over 200. Got home and took the top off the overflow to see if it was purging and all I saw was a steady stream of bubbles coming up. Makes me think I don't have all the air out of the system. When I filled the radiator I had jacked up the passenger side of the car and massaged hoses trying to get the air out. I will investigate this further tomorrow when the engine cools down and I can take the cap off. I don't think I'm going to worry too much about 200. Hopefully it will stay there when the weather gets hot.

    Thanks for all the help!!!

210 is a normal thing. I had the stock 3 core radiator rebuilt in my 71 electra it helped but not as much as I woulda liked so the water pump went out and that got replaced. The blades on the water pump wash down thin from the water they call it water wash. So if your water pump hasn't been replaced in a while then that's most likely the problem. Since I replaced mine it stay's 200 and 210 when a/c is on. As for the fan shroud my 71 and 72 eletra's have the slot. just not quite so big plus your fan shrowd looks like it's a totally different design than the eletra's.

Oh - you mean the radiator hoses.....hahahaha I thought you meant something else.....

To help bleed the air out when filling the block and radiator I usually open one of the temp sending unit ports on the intake manifold.
