I need to start digging through some old bins of toys from when I was a kid. I could do a lot to my Buick for that amount of money!
Makes me sick to remember how many of those redline Hot Wheels I had when I was a kid (and smashed). If we only knew then what we know now. ou:
Why is it so fascinating to smash things when you're a kid? I had TONS of model cars....until I smashed and burned most of them:laugh: And my hot wheels got the hammer treatment...
GTFO!!!!!!! :eek2: that toy is worth more than my Buick? and all you can do is look at it? Something isn't adding up :moonu:
I used to use Ultra-bright and a toothbrush to "polish" the paint off the hotwheels. I thought they looked cool with bare metal.
ou: ou: :jd:  I had that car  :jd: ou: ou: figuers..... :ball: if I still had it...... it wouldn't be worth jack :ball:
Oh my One could manufacture them for less. A fool & his money..... ou: I invite all those bidders to my house, at anytime they choose, to go through all the crapola. They can make offers on anything I have (even my GS stuff), but I will have to keep the kids & dog, the wife though, hmmmmmm. I sure glad she doesn't get on this site!
Hot wheels I STILL HAVE MINE !!!!! The one thing I kept as a kid was all of the first 3 years of Hot Wheels. Including my gold over chrome 68 T-bird!!!
I don't know but It sure was fun.Tim aka buick widow and I killed many cool things when we were kids.Oh well o No:
hot wheels yes thats cool but the gold over chrome is only worth 20.00 it has to be the turquois . man maybe you could paint it ! LOL  Just kidding I too had amny of those including the surfer van thats so valuable . I think my mom gave them all away when I went into the service . thats probably one of mine !
More than the .25 cents I gave for it 68!!! :TU: The one I have is the School Bus Funny car. The last I looked It was close to 500.00 bucks. I still have the van and surf boards. Model cars of the generic kind. We built up with firecrackers built into the motors or where the gas tank would be. Light them up and crash them, then when the firecrackers would go off. Man just like TV. :Brow:
I don't think you really did though. You had one "like" it. I had one like it too. This one is a one of three prototypes the add says, which was used for advertising. The one I had was a similar color as well. The rarity of this one, plus the story behind it, is what drives the price up. These were apparently rare marketing demos.
