Greeting everyone. I have a question that in not Buick related. In this case, it's Chevy related. What I need to ask may also help some of the Buick group here. Before anyone Boos me, I have a 72 Skylark and a 72 Chevelle Malibu. I am parting out a 72 4 door Malibu and there is someone interested on all four interior door panels. I would like some opinions as to what they may be worth. I have looked all over the place and can't find any 4 door panels to use as a reference. I have pretty good images of each of the panels. Please feel free to give your opinions. Mark
I wouldn’t think 4 dr anything brings much, if they were mine I would ask $50 each and be quite astonished.
Do they interchange with Station Wagons? If so, and none are reproduced decent ones can be of course dyed to match and someone may be willing to sub in "nice" chevy panels on a Buick or Olds etc...
Its one of those things where if a buyer actually shows up in your driveway, he's leaving with the parts no matter what
Funny story, I had one of those toploader 3 speeds from a 68 or 69 buick laying on the floor of my garage. Got tired of tripping over it. It's actually a funny story how I got it, but I digress... I put the trans up on Craigslist. It's like putting an ad up in a mental institution. Anyway, someone replies. I forget what I had it up for. Knowing me, it was a high price. Guy shows up. Told myself this guy is leaving with this trans even if I have to give it to him. Asks me a bunch of odd questions. Guy wasn't 100% for sure. Offers me $175. Uh....ok. As I'm helping him to his jeep, he asks me, "what does this trans fit?". Being sharp as a tack, I asked him what he's putting it in. Tells me a pontiac something or other. I tell him, "yep, it'll fit perfectly " it fit pretty good in the back of his jeep too!
I bet they’ll fit a Chevelle/Malibu wagon-someone out there wants them. You may not get a lot of money for them but you’ll likely make someone very happy! Patrick
Those are in really good condition, just not much of a demand for them. But yeah, if he shows up, ask $50 and go down from there... as long as you don't have to pay him to take them. If it helps save an old 4-door, it's going to a good cause in my opinion, but I'm more of a philanthropist than most folks.
