my 70 gs455 vert currantly has an old offy aluminum intake on it with a holley 750 on it. the car supposedly ran 12.80s all though i never raced it, but i can say that it pulls very hard and that it is not the stock lower end. i have read on here that alot of you dont like the offy intakes. my regal has a 71 lower end with an sp1 but even once i have it fired it wont be the same due to a lower compression ratio. does anyone think the 70 would be better off with one of the sp1s or even a b4b or should i just leave it alone. dan

If you are going to spend money on an intake go sp1 !! Mine works great on the street and pulls like crazy when I stomp on it!

If you set it up right the sp-1 should make more power. I don't know anything about the offy though, is it a dual plane?

In talking to JW about making more power I considered switching from a performer intake to an sp-1. I was told that the best way to utilize the sp-1 was to use a 1" spacer with it and I could probably see a 20hp gain over my performer. The problem is hood clearance. On my stock looking GS I can't run the sp-1 with a spacer and not have to change to a hood scoop of some sort. I did a cam change to get the power I wanted and stuck with the performer.
