Would a points bolt be bad idea as vacuum adv. Limiter?

I consider to take some details from an Ignition breaker point, weld it on the vacuum advance canister and gain an easy and precise limiter.
But I have only read about this as a solution in the old days.
Any reason why nobody does this today?

I have the crane solution also, but I don’t think it wouldn’t be as precise as a bolt.
About the bolt version, I’m worried that the sheet metal wouldn't be strong enough and flex but I trust the work shop welder. Or that the distributor would get damaged when it bumps on the bolt all the time.

(I realize I need to make it smaller)

That could work, but it may not clear moving parts. Check for interference.

Heat from welding could damage the diaphragm inside the vacuum unit.
