whats up fellas i have a couple of problems coming from my motor, I hope that someone can give me some input.
1.I have adjustable pushrods so i shouldn't get any ticking but on the passenger side i hear a tick, it is low at idle but the faster i go the faster it ticks, you can hear it in the car better than under the hood. I took off the valve covers and the rockers aren't loose.
2.how will i know if i have an exhaust leak, and does it make a sound?
3.I have headers how do I know if they are leaking i have a cam so it is hard to tell the cam from an exhaust leak at idle.
    4. I have lost alot of power all of a sudden the car still sounds good just the ticking.
5.All of a sudden the car doesn't want to stay crunk in drive it will idle as long as i am moving but when i put my foot on the brakes totally it will try to cut off unless i throw it in neutral, then sometimes it still cuts off.
6.If my transmission needs a filter change will that change the way it pulls? Oh yeah one of my pipes are black and the other isn't does that mean i am running lean, it is on the side where it is ticking
I know these are alot of questions but i have spent too much money to blow it away in one week of driving so all responses are appreciated

Sounds like a vacuum leak to the power booster and a leaky header gasket(tic tic tic tic tic). If you think its a rocker, run the engine with the valve cover off and use you hand to put pressure on the rockers one at a time. If one is noisy, some force from your hand will shut it up. You can disconnect the vacuum booster, plug the line, and test drive to see if thats the problem. Drive it somewhere short and safe cause you won't have much brake.

    she's O.K

i went and jacked her up , you where right it was a leaky header gasket. the reason she was cutting off and backfiring was my timing jumped off. i adjusted the air and fuel mixture, loosened up the first pushrod on passenger side and she is running GREAT!!:Brow: Now i have to tackle the transmission.:puzzled:
